My cat does the same thing at least twice a week. It seems that cats aren't as domestic as we may think, actually still a bit wild. they'll jump at any noise and movement. They prowl as if hunting. When they get like that cats tend to resemble their big cat cousins.Hopefully kitty can stay out of trouble in this mood, but often can't. It's important to teach your kitty what is acceptable and what is not, especially when kitty is feeling "wild." To be on the safe side, you should never leave anything in a designated play zone unless you want it played with.

I just adopted out the last kitten in a litter of six tonight. The mama was a stray and we took the family in.
When they were living with us, the kittens would totally lose it, just like you're describing. It's ok, though. They calm back down. Just be sure to balance the play with the calm down time and your little kitty will grow up balanced and happy.
You've got to remember that your kitten is like a two year old right now. Crazy, hyper, and irrational. It's natural.
Congrats on your new kitty and kudos for adopting. Good luck.

You may have got her cranked up a little, but kittens as well as adult cats get the crazies from time to time. A kitten will get them more often than a full grown cat,. My 3 full grown cats will all of a sudden start running around the house, swatting at each other, bouncing off the walls and chairs, yowling and meowing and then all of a sudden quit and lay down and take a snooze. I think its just letting off a little steam. Don't worry about over playing with your kitten, you can't. But have some quiet, snuggle time with her too. I just sit back and enjoy the show when my three go bonkers, it's funny to watch.

My kitten can play for hourssssssssss and she'll play fetch too and my arm will get tired from throwing the toy before she gets tired from going to fetch it. If her pupils are dilated while she is doing this she's in attack mode... cats love to stalk their "prey", my kitten will run through the rooms to the point that she's almost crashing into walls. She will calm down as she gets older but enjoy play time - it's so entertaining to watch them.

Totally normal! And hilarious to watch so enjoy it. Before you know it she'll be a permanent fixture on the couch. My kitty was the exact same age when she jumped from the chair & landed on the curtains, swung crazily for a moment till the curtain rod fell down & knocked a floor lamp over, which in turn broke a figurine on the end table. It wasn't so funny at the time, but I got over it.

Great question.
I have a kitten and she does the same thing. They are just hyper little squirts and the only cure unfortunately is time. The good news is that cats mature more quiclky than dogs. She should be out of this "crazy" stage by 6-8 months. Good luck!!!

It's totally normal. I don't believe that it's possible to "over play" with a kitten. When they're tired, they'll walk away. At this age, they're full of energy. It's quite entertaining to watch them play when they get their bursts of energy. Good luck!! :)

i've got continuously fed my kittens (from 8 weeks - only below 3months previous now) nutrition different than the cat nutrition and that they like it. My one kitten became extremely tiny and underweight for her age, at 8 weeks, and her tummy became continuously churning and making watery noises; and her - ahem - mess, became never soild. I even have them on the moist whiskas cat nutrition yet because of the fact feeding her fish, ham and different meats she has grown and her mess has substitute into stable. examine her mess to ascertain how she is responding - that's a stable indication of her digestiv gadget and well being. In my journey cats are completely high quality on meats we'd consume - i even get them fish from the chip shop!! (no longer with the batter on). supply her bits of chicken, fish and ham - she would desire to like it. Cats additionally love cheese yet i'd think of she is only too youthful for this. only try her with moist fish (tuna and salmon) and bits of chicken, she would desire to definately like this. on the top of the day cats used to consume it and proceed to exist earlier cat nutrition became around! places like Greece and Spain have thousands of feral cats working around - they scavenge from packing containers and stay. in the adventure that your kitten is bouncy and working around then i think of your doing the main appropriate activity! in any different case, she would desire to no longer be a huge eater - my kittens are opposites, they never consume on the comparable time and the newborn demands plenty greater so do no longer subject too plenty. stable success! x

oh yeah, the post above mine reminded me... you might want to keep in mind that kittens do LOVE to climb curtains... if you have really nice ones... you might want to think of a way to keep them out of kittys way! apparently they are very tempting!

It's pretty easy to overstimulate a kitty that young when you play with her. She's normal. Enjoy her kittenhood while you can.
