What are you talking about ? The Catholic church has been celebrating Easter for centuries now. Christmas is the celebration of His birth not His death. Christmas is not the actual birthday of the Lord Jesus. It is the celebration of the gift given to believers by God the father. That being the birth of His son so that Jesus could die as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. The Christian God , unlike other religions, never asked any human been to kill another human being for His sake. He sacrificed His own son for this. Would you kill YOUR son for something you believed in ? I don't think so 'cause if you did, Muslims would be killing each other rather than killing everybody else. GET IT !

We conmemorate the day of his death, because Jesus died for us. After three days we celebrate his RISING from the dead. And this celebration has been going on for more than 2000 years and we will continue to celebrate it, thing is, you barely noticed it.

When do you suggest it was?
We really don't "celebrate" His death. We are thankful to Him for what He did for us and try to live our life by his example.
We "celebrate" His birth, and that was 2006 years ago.

"Celibate" is an adjective, not a verb. Your question makes no sense.
(But I guess that shouldn't surprise me on this forum.)
