don't buy junk food so you won't have the urge to snack on it. drink a glass of water before you eat anything...that helps a lot. and write down what you are about to eat. it will help you think about it before you eat it. possibly controlling that impulse.

Yes, it is true you can eat as much celery as you want, but let's be honest here, we're talking about celery and how much of that can you willingly eat anyway?
The best snack I've come across that solves the "munchie" issue, and the "crunch" issue too: air popped popcorn. Use white corn though because it has a much lighter, sweeter flavor without the need to add butter or salt. Though on occassion I add a little garlic powder.
Good Luck!

Since your doing it out of boredom try finding other things to do. Keeping your hands being with a project of some sort, (crafts, writing, reading, etc.) will help alot. Also if your snacking on unhealthy foods try some baby carrots or cut up apples to keep you away from sugar and fat from processed foods. Good luck.

Every time you want something sweet, go for some grapes or some flavored water. If you eat out of boredom, read a magazine or go for a walk.

You know how they say you can't eat just one potato chip? Or how about just one little handful of popcorn? Can you stop after a couple of M&M's?
Well... it's all about carbs. Cut down on the carbs and your cravings will cease. The more carbs you eat the more you want them.
What you need to cut out is sugar. Then cut way down on high sugar fruits and vegetables, pasta, rice and flour. You'll be amazed. I always thought it was about self-control and have found that has nothing to do with it. It's all about carbs!

Snack on carrot sticks or celery and peanut butter. Go with something healthy and you'll be okay. I have to watch my salt and sugar intake and fruits and vegetables are the best way to keep healthy!
