I spent the day with my friend at the salon and we went out for an early supper and drinks after. I tried calling my bf all day because he was planning on picking me up after work but he didn't answer his cell or work phone. He said he was super busy. When I realised what time it was, I had to get home to be picked up. He finally answered his cell phone and said he was going for drinks. I wouldn't have cared because I was having fun with my friend and could have stayed out a little longer. But don't you think he should have phoned me to tell me the change in plans? He said he was busy but obviously had time to call his buddies. He said it was miscommunication with me. I hardly ever go out and it would have been nice to stay longer. Plus he said, "who the hell were you out with anyway?" That comment kind of disturbed me. We've been together for 3 years and has never said anything like that.

You're learning about him. Sometimes it takes longer than 3 years to get to know what someone's priorities really are.

He was inconsiderate and disrespectful of you. But who knows if it was intentional, only time will tell. Why don't you go out more often, does he subtly make you feel that you shouldn't? Did he intentionally turn off his cell phone to make you concerned because you were out? Did he only call you back when your home phone number showed up on his id. Everything up to the point before he asked who in the hell where you out with anyway could be explained or dismissed as miscommunication. BUT, this last comment shows his true heart. He seems controlling of you, even in a subtle way this, after a while, can be quite suffocating. Start checking this out and dealing with this situation. Don't let it slide. Like the other answerer said you are just beginning to really get to know him after three years. And after all, doesn't he trust you enough to not accuse you like he did? If he doesn't trust you, it's more than likely you can't trust him. And it's better to find out now,
