Is it possible that some place questions here to get the answerers all worked up. There have been so many questions on whelping, mating, and raising puppies. Some of these questions are just down right ignorant. Its like they are being placed to get you all worked up. Why would someone go breed their dog and just a couple weeks before whelping they ask important questions about the signs and procedure?

I agree that some of these questions are an attempt to get a rise. At least some of them.

Others...I honestly think these posters are genuine...genuinely stupid, that is!

They are probably the same people who never talk with their kids' teachers, never watch any news programs or read a newspaper, don't have a clue where their local library is much less have a card!

People who got the dog on a spur-of-the-moment impulse, who stood sipping their first cup of coffee, watching numbly out the window while their female get impregnated by some male who jumped the fence. Then, two months later, when the pups are moving inside the female and she is showing signs of whelping...suddenly they remember that morning! DUH!!

People who just never THINK!!!

You may not be happy about people asking questions. Understandable. But if someone's dog is going to have puppies they need that information to make sure the puppies have a good chance of survival. Everyone needs to learn and people should not be so stuck up that they don't even care to help someone else out if they need the help to save their dog or upcoming litter.
Ideally, people would realize that breeding is not a part time money maker, but a full time investment for the love of the breed and can cost them a lot of money and heartache. But if someone needs help I would rather help them and see the puppies survive than not tell them and have the puppies and mother die. At least the person is showing that they want to do the right thing for the newborn puppies.
I am completely against someone breeding their dog because they think the dog is too special to not breed, they think it's easy money, it's not and basically I feel that to be a breeder, you need to spend all of your time working with your dogs, showing them, making them healthy and happy. If someone can't spend 100% of their time during breeding and raising pups, they should not do it.

I totally agree with you. Like any of these people really care about there dogs. They just want money, how would they feel if they were is the dogs place.... being used just to get money. They are just ignorant.... I new someone who Breed dogs and had no idea what they were doing and someone found out and they got charged like a 500 dollar fine! Only because one of the dogs had an illness.. (that was contagious to other dogs) that was faitle and the breeder new but didn't tell the women. You can sue anyone for anything these days.

Well yes I'm sure there are some instances where people are that ignorant and where people do this just to rile everybody up but sometimes accidents happen and dogs get breed that aren't meant to be breed. For example my cousin's neighbors dog got loose (dog was a whole male) and came into my cousin's yard and breed her dog. So needless to say a couple months later her dog had puppies that were not planned. So we can't just asume that everyone that asks that question had intentions on their dog gettting pregnant.

When I first started everybody was asking questions about how to be cruel to dogs. I'm not surprised by anything anymore. I've seen way too many cruelty pictures and stuff to be surprised by people's stupidity. So maybe some of them are asking to get a rise but I bet most of them are actually that stupid. They have no right bringing life into the world let alone even owning a dog.

Yes, that happens all the time. I have a friend who allowed her pit bulls to breed and then she called me about advice on whelping cause she didn't have a clue.

But I think you are partly right in the whole setup thing as well.

The exact same scenario is true straight across the boards in here---most of the people here are truly trying to either get some straight up questions answered (some of them seem ignorant to some people who KNOW but there ARE a lot of people who DON"T)---OR they truly enjoy sharing what they know about things with others---THEN--- you have those folks with nothing better to do than to come at this thing from an attitude of stirring things up and asking things that they know will mess with people---just have to take the bad with the good in here !!!

Sure, some come here just BLATHER,some (MOST??) cuz they're too LAZY to do their OWN HOMEWORK,some just to get a "cootchie-coo" from other EQUALLY moronic people,...probably even a few who actually WANT an answer but don't REALIZE that this is the WORST place for it......

There are animals out there who have become the "property" of humans, that can't be considered pets. A pet would have more consideration.

In addition, you also have to realize that there are denizons of the internet out there. They are called trollers. A lot of these questions are meant to elicit an outraged response from people who love animals.

Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference, but I'm with you on this one, if that's any help.

Believe it or not, people are really that ignorant. The people asking these questions have no right even breeding their dogs. They aren't professional breeders and their dogs aren't anything special. They aren't helping to better the breed. They just want money and they don't really care about the dogs.
