You didn't say what your routine is.

Work out upper body and lower body every other day, in order to give your muscles recovery time.

Yes, it is because you need to let your body rest between work outs. For instance, if you started working out on Monday. Then, rest on Tuesday. Lift weights every other day and be sure not to over work you muscles. I use to lift weight and may start going back to do it again but my brother trained me and he had me starting light after a week, he move me up another pound. Start low never start high.

All the trainers I've ever worked with have told me you need to rest every other day to let your muscles repair themselves and rest. It won't stop you from getting muscles and it will greatly reduce the risk of injuries. I'm sure professional body builders work out every day, but that is with close supervision and intensive build up to that level. I'd recommend lifting weights 3-4 times per week. That will be plenty for you to see results.

When you are weight lifting you are actually getting small tears in you muscles. You want that to heal before your next work out so you should only do weight lifting every other day. Cardio work out (jogging, walking, etc...) can be done every day...and is actually recommended you get at least 30 mins of cardio a day.

Yes. You should lift weights every other day instead. I'm twelve and we've been in our school's weight room for a unit and I have gym every other day. ;D And since you're a boy that makes it better...

Lift wts every other day- the first day you work out and it makes tiny tears in the tissue- the 2nd day your body repairs the tears- so on the 3rd day you wt lift again- and do that every other day-D

I would suggest that at 13 years old, your skeleton and muscular structure is still developing and may be damaged if you over work your young muscles that many days a week. I recommend moderation.
