It doesn't. It gives you some extra dough to spend during school, usually working a part-time job on campus. depending on your school, it may/may not be counted in your financial aid package.

Work-study is a part of Financial Aid, not Student Loan.
Loan is loan and is individually counted for the money U have to pay back after graduation or to a certain amount of time the loan providers begin to charge for interested including payment each month that one has to pay.
Financial Aid are more to be "free" money from government paid for students to go to school. And they're separated from loan.
Work-study gives you a job that you can earn money just as any other jobs. The money is what you earn and for you to keep, you work and get paid, and keep the money for yourself. It doesn't payfor student loan, unless in case you use that money to pay for the loan.
