I wish i could, but it makes you only worse and more irritable
so then you drink,, well I do, thats kind of how a bad, depressing weekend goes for me

I also like it when it rains, for days, nothing worse then a sunny day when you are really depressed,

just some depressing stream of thoughts here

one time I was really depressed on the weekend and the Jehavah WItness people came to the door and they started reading me this passage on sadness, I don't like them

I have recently been sleeping up to 16 hours with no problem. I decided to go back and talk to my therapist. I'm feeling better now. I'm taking omega 3 fish oils and a daily vitamin. I also bought a book called Battlefield of the mind. Great read. It's helping. Isn't it weird how those Jehovah's witnesses always come over when your life is in a puddle. I don't not like them but I don't agree with their religion.

Well the drinking doesn't help take it from someone who knows. Actually alcohol is a depressant so put that with being depressed and yes it gets worse. If your not seeing a therapist it would probably be a good idea to find one. Depression like this doesn't usually go away without some type of help. Also you may want to try going to A.A.. If nothing else it will make you get out of the bed, house and get you around some people. Being alone when your depressed does nothing but make the symptoms more severe and troublesome. Good luck.

Yes, I wouldn't wish the feeling on a dog that had bit me. I wanted to sleep all the time, but would just stay in bed and shake. I stopped drinking coffee and started drinking coke because I was shaking too bad to hold the mug without spilling.

The best thing I ever did was go see my doctor who called it " You really f***ed yourself up this time" and then called it depression. Stress will destroy a messenger in your brain called serotonin. Serotonin helps regulate your moods. The more you are stressed, the more is destroyed, which breaks up your sleep, which causes more stress, which destroys more serotonin.

A serotonin re uptake inhibitor slows down the body's natural way of destroying serotonin, allowing more to remain longer in your system, which allows your moods to level out, and will let you get more sleep. ( It does take a number of days to start having an effect)

You need to visit the doctor.

Yes, I did. And I didn't even know I was depressed. My husband and I and our 6 year old boy had just moved to England and I didn't know any one. My husband was traveling 4 days a week, and I could barely speak English (I spoke French only). In the morning, I would drive my son to school, and come home to sleep. I would put the alarm to wake up in time to pick him up from school, stay up for a couple of hours to feed him and try to play with him and give him his bath. Then, I would send him to bed early, so I could return to my bed and sleep for 12 hours straight.
I figured I lost about 13 months of my life by sleeping up to 18 hours a day for all those months. I'm sure I'll think of that when my time to die comes.
Make sure you talk to your doctor. He can really help.

When I was depressed I always wanted to sleep I would find myself on my bed 8-10 times a day, then i realized I was just trying to escape, possibly the drinking is doing this for you. It took years of hounding doctors but finally I have a medication that really works for me and I was given it for some thing else entirely. as part of my depression I used to get in to what I refer to as white hot rages, they were so bad I would place myself in danger, any how long story short I was given a wonderful drug called seroquel. it is a anti physocit, and yes it really works for me, so keep on trying you need help

I slept 16 hours once when I was feeling kinda blue. I felt great when i got up though, sort of like a new person. If you're really depressed, get some help. You'll feel much better for it.

You are approaching this wrong.

You not only need to get out of the house on a sunny day, you need to take a striding walk on the trail,

between the sunlight and endorphans, you can banish depression

I have been gifted with being able to sleep all day whether I am depressed or not. This gift does not assist me in earning a living or in improving my mental health, so I save my sleep marathons for rainy Saturdays.

I went through this 5 years ago. I tried to sleep all day, neglected my job & My family. I got help, as much as I didn't want to admit there was a problem. Talk to someone, family or see a dr
