Well sponsoring a child can be tough you have to remember to send in the payments every month. but it is fun :) what you do to sponsor a child you pick what company you want to go through. some send you one you cant really choose others let you choose if they let you choose look for one that needs it the most. like one with only one parent, no income, sick parent, their environment. all of those thing can help you choose the one that's right. If your a Christan you could pray about the children and god will lead you to the one he knows you should have. i sponsored a child for 3 years i started when i was 14. i sponsored through compassion international
Hope i helped :)

I sponsored a child for years through PLAN International it was brilliant, regular photos and letters from the child; a girl in Bolivia. I only stopped because I couldn't afford it, financial circumstances changed ony £12 per month as well but I would recommend it 100%. Look on the map, think where you would like to go if you won the lottery and how you could help that poor area, choose a boy or girl and that's it. It's really very rewarding, you can send small pressies to them as well, Good Luck.
Girls M......what are you moaning about? You had an education, you have a home you even have middle class friends!!! These poor kids don't even have running water...get over yourself!!

You are such a nice person. There are a lot of children living in 3rd world countries that need our help. But, did you know that there are children in our own backyard that need your help too. I appreciate the fact that you want to help, but let's take care of our own first. Give to the soup kitchen, volunteer, organise a snow suit fund, be a mentor. There is so much you can do which requires very little money only your time.
I grew up poor and I believe if I had a mentor growing up I would be doing a lot better than I am doing now. I wanted to go to University, but did not know how to apply or what courses I wanted to take. I had no one to give me advice or did not know where to ask. Being poor, there are lots of I should have taken advantage of, such as financial help, loans, etc. I which there was someone out there to tell me that life could be different for me when I grew up, all I had to have was drive, education and ambition, which I did have, loads of it.
I am doing OK with my high school education. I think having the right middle class friends helped steer me in the right direction. But I feel I could be a better human, if only....
I am pleading with you, please help those that are close to you. You could make a world of difference.

When you are trying to sponsor a child in a third world country your heart pours out to all the children you see, however you have to be realistic about it no matter how hard it may be. There is just no way to help them all and no one can tell you which one to choose that is something you will have to decide on your own.
If you keep searching I am sure that there will be that one child that reachs out and tugs at your heart and when you find that child you will surely know it.
Good luck and God bless you

Apply for adoption of a child in a Social Welfare Department or Orphanage so that your sponsorship will be legal.
