I would assume so.

Most people can take up to 800MG (4 over the counter pills) every 8 hours. If the pain is breaking through before the 8 hours are up, you need to see a dr for a script for something stronger.

As long as you are not allergic to it and make sure you take it as directed, ibuprofen should be one of the safest pain relievers for you to use for any reason. If you find that you are still having some aching around the ear, try soaking a cotton ball in a salt water solution (sea salt) and holding it against the pierced area. It should help relieve some of the achy feeling.

Some ibuprofen should be just fine. Make sure you clean it with pure, salted water (not Bactine or any other spirits or antibacterials), because otherwise it's going to give you a lot more worries.

yes it will help with the pain and swelling. it will hurt for a while=) i got just 2 cartilage piercings one on each side done last month and they hurt for a little over a week. lol they still give me problems when i sleep. i shoudl have only gotten one at a time =p

just make sure you clean it! (sea salt soaks and aftercare pierce solution)

I'm sure it is okay to take ibu but if are still uncertain ask the person who did the tat. Didn't he or she give you a sheet of instructions?
