Go to your closest grocery store and order a prepared Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings. Buy a good bottle of wine and a couple of beers. Place a pretty tablecloth on the table, some autumn leaves from your garden, and two candles. Put on your prettiest smile and his favorite TV program (probably football). Make sure the oven is warm and prior to his arrival, put a cup of water with some vanilla and cinnamon in the oven. It will smell delicious. Later, while he is watching his program with a couple of beers and tidbits, warm up the turkey in the oven just enough to give the all room a nice smell. Place everything in pretty dishes and ask him to pour the wine and light the candles. Smile and thank him for making this day so special for both of you. Then forget the dishes unless he offers to help you clean them. Enjoy.
Next year you can try to bake your own turkey!

OK here is a plan. Go and get a recipe on how to make the PERFECT and i mean PERFECT turkey, but if you don't want turkey then you can choose a holiday ham recipe. If he wants the works, then you give it to him. For desserts try pumpkin pie or cheesecake. Since you are a female you work ten times faster than any chef, that's why there's something called ???girl power??? i think. Any way back to the meal. If you're going with the turkey, make sure you buy a stuffer and PERFECT stuffing, OK? If it doesn't fit in the oven, then buy young turkeys. Lets keep going.... You want it at an extra juicy so please be careful if you choose not to stuff it. so good luck with it, Heidiva, one small move can lead to your house to a smokehouse, that happened to me once. Other than that I don't see why you can't fail, and if you do, than get a professional Chef in there, good-luck Heidiva. And happy thanksgiving:-)
P.S Below are some websites that can be helpful if you don't find a recipe.

Great first answer, above!

One addition: Do you have a blender? (Like for making daiquires or margueritas)? If so, easy-to-make cranberry relish, no cooking required, takes 10 minutes.

Ingredients:
1 bag of fresh cranberries. (Standard size -- 12 oz?? 16??)
1 orange (medium size)
1 cup brown sugar

Directions:
Wash the cranberries. (If any are mushy/rotten, throw them out, they may sink if you pour the bag into a big bowl and fill with water.)
Wash the orange and cut it into quarters -- PEEL AND SEEDS AND ALL! (Yes, you can eat orange peel, it adds a nice "zest" to the relish.)
Measure 1 cup of brown sugar (a medium-size coffee-cup will do; pack it down gently.)
Add all the ingredients to the blender, and hold the top on (!). Turn on high for 3 minutes or until all ingredients are thoroughly blended. (Never stick anything into the blender while it is turning, turn it off first if you need to stir or poke things down.)

That's it! You'll be amazed how good, and how pretty, it comes out. No cooking required!

Grocery stores usually have full chickens you can buy one for under $10.00 and buy some stuffing. Stuff the chicken, cooks faster than a turkey. Get some Grands biscuits. Vegies are good to have with this meal. Broc' and cheese ( in the frozen vegie section) or seasoned green beans, maybe some corn. a can of cranberry and maybe some scalloped taters with cheese. Buy the box kind. easy and fast directions.

God bless

Don't let him pressure you to do "the works" if you don't cook gourmet meals. A turkey is not too difficult. Plan ahead & ask your butcher. Make some stuffing (microwave) open up some canned yams and add brown sugar (cook 'em in microwave or bake in the oven) buy some rolls (some really good restaurants have them you can buy or just go to the store and get the heat & serve kind) and buy a pie. If he expects what mom makes, tell him that you are more than happy to eat with his family at his mom's. Expectations are things that we set ourselves up to fail with. don't panic because he has personal expectations that you don't need to own. Better yet, invite him to cook it with you! You'll have fun and it will taste great!

Call a Market or restaurant asap, place a catering order and have the food delivered to your place on Thanksgiving before your Boyfriend arrives. He won't know the difference.

I would order Thanksgiving dinner from your grocery store. Many grocery stores allow you to order the works from their deli area. Check it out. Or there may be local restaurants that do as well. Or stores like Boston Market. Good luck, maybe you can take lessons so next year you can go it alone!

Jennie-O turkey (find at supermarkets) just came out with these fabulous turkeys totally preped for the oven. You don't even have to thaw. Just pop them in and voila! Makes green beans on the side, maybe broccoli, mashed potatoes, dinnner rolls, Done!
