I just got my hair cut today and the guy who did it really had no idea what i was asking for and he gave me a horrible haircut. I keep busting into tears because i hate it so much. I had been putting it off for months because i wanted to make sure i went somewhere good.
When i 1st realised it wasn't going right i stopped him and told him i wanted him to change some bits but he just made it shorter without changing his style.
Should i go back and ask them to fix it? Should i ask or my money back? It cost me £37 and i feel i've been ripped off.

It's not long enough to put into a pony tail but i can just get it into wee bunches towards the back. I don't mind it being this length but i hate the shape. I've tried washing it and playing around with it to see if i can find a look that works. Having it tied back helps but it's still making me miserable.
Can anyone recommend a good hairdresser in Glasgow to fix it?

go back the shop if you have no joy with the stylist who cut your hair ask to see the manager. if youve payed for it they should correct it free. good luck!

oh i'm so sorry this has happened to you! you've been given good advice above. don't mean to say it again.. but really you should have stated there and then that you weren't happy and then they could have either offered you a free hair do (now or when it starts to grow back in etc) or perhaps a discount or your money back. The good news is hair does grow back in..and you wont be going back to him. What i'd do .. is go in again asap and say you've been up crying all night. You don't like to make a fuss and didn't want to say at time.. but you have just not stopped being upset since getting home.. and ask if anything can be done about it. Advise them you did tell the initial stylist you weren't happy and that he kept cutting it shorter. (his manager will have a word with him i'm sure).. ask for the "head" hairdresser/manager etc to do your hair.. albeit it may be too short at the moment.. but perhaps she can fix it differently and sit with you and give you some styling tips etc. I've just had a lot of my long hair cut off.. due to an illness i'd lost some hair (which was heart breaking).. my hair has been long and the same style pretty much since i was born!! Now i'm loving this short style (a bob with wispy bits around my face).. i'm making diff styles out of it and also i bought a long hair extension pony tail..so now i've got the best of both worlds.. perhaps you could ask them re extensions! Finally..you are only as good as your last gig, so to speak.. so be strong and if you feel you are getting nowhere.. advise them that you will be telling everyone you know (who will tell others and so on and so on)..how a/ you've not had a great hair cut b/ not to go to that particular stylist, cos he doesn't listen and c/ (hopefully not the case) but when you've complained you've had major lack of customer service.
Be strong pet..it's your money and your hair.. they don't have to walk around feeling as upset as you do.. be strong and go in and in a nice BUT FIRM way.. stand your ground and make your point.
Hope that makes sense.. its late and i'm tired.. but wanted to wish you well .. and hopefully you'll get some tips as to what to do to make the most of your new "do" for just now anyways.. take care. x

The same thing happened to me. It was a week before my 21st (8 years ago) and I asked for the 'Jennifer Aniston' style. I ended up going from having hair passed my shoulders to it being sooooo short it wouldn't even fit in a pony tail. It was REALLY layered and looked terrible. I just cryed for the rest of the day. I tried washing it and styling it in different ways but it didn't look any better. I still had a good party but my hair was disgusting . It didn't take too long to grow into a half decent style though.
I wouldn't ask him to re-style it but maybe there is a more experienced hairdresser there who can help. I'd be quick though before they close otherwise you'll be walking round with a bag on your head for the rest of the weekend. Could you try putting it up? If it is too short try pinning bits up with those kirby grips. That can look quite cool x

YES! Go back. This very same thing happened to me. I made the mistake of walking out with a bad cut. Then paying someone else to fix it. What I should have done was refuse to pay and make him pay for another hairdresser to fix it. I found out from a hairdresser that can be done. You have to go back but do not let him try and fix it. If he did not do it right with all your input the 2nd time around will not be any better. You can demand your money back. If he gives you problems go straight to his manger. ( assuming he is not the manager)

DON'T YOU HATE THAT!!! I tell you, I dyed my hair black and tried going over it with brown and turned out with maroon hair! I went to a hairdresser and wanted to strip the color out and just put something else in...well, the lady decided she'd rather do blonde highlights, that it would even out the tone. The highlights came out pink and yellow, no joke. She refused to fix it for free or give me my money back. I still want to burn her salon down! :) Anyway, I do believe that since they were providing you a service, they should have done it correctly. Go back tell them what happened, ask for a different stylist, and ask that they fix it. Maybe you'll be luckier than me.

I've hated every haircut I got, except one but that was like four years ago. I don't get my hair cut that often so I guess I would say every 6 months or so depending on how much damage I do to it o.O

Hello, I'm a hairdresser... sorry to hear you are so upset about your hair cut... I had a client last week who had got drunk with her mate and they decided to cut the new concave style into each others hair.. (posh's new style) the made a right mess.. one even grade 3 clippered the back, guard fell off, one inch bold spot.. they fell into my salon crying, hungover and feeling rel silly.. (ones a nurse ones a air-hostess).. we sat down went through all the style options... all turned out ok, outrageous styles but ok..lol. go to another salon, show then a pic, tell them that's what you want and can they do that cut, have they ever done it b4 etc etc... hairdressers provide a service.. they wouldn't exist without your custom... personally i would return to the salon and ask to speak to the manager/owner..

I don't think theres nothing you can do you can wear a hat get a refund or fix it for you for free or wait for it to grow quicker i would prefere using head and shoulders washing your hair two times a day wash it in the morning and then at night
hope that helps

go back and get your money back or get them to put it right.
you asked him to change it and all he done was make it shorter, without changing what you wanted.
This guy either didnt have a clue or couldnt be bothered to do what you asked.
Just explain you left because you felt so upset you didnt want to stay there any longer and its really affected you.
I think you will find that they can not refuse you. the minimum they have to do it put it right or from what i know you can go to trading standards and explain they didnt give you what you asked for. or at least that is what i heard from someone else who had the same experience.

You should definitely go back and have him fix it or give your money back. If he gives you the money go buy a really pretty hat and pray for your hair to grow back quickly. Don't be down about it. No sense in wasting time over that. It will grow back.

The fact you cry about it is a bit on the vain side isn't it? I'm sure it can't be that bad. If it really is, go back, complain, and get it fixed. If he messes it up again, there's something called hair extensions.
People won't care about you having bad hair, its whats on the inside that counts!! :P
