I don't have any seminary to back this up, but I believe that God was given a masculine identity simply because males in biblical times were looked at as the head of the family, and the heads of society. Therefore God was "male", but this has been revised in some denominations so that neither maleness or femaleness is attributed to the creator.

If god was a dog or a worm... then WE would be a dog or a worm... I think you are freaking out a Lil too much, you need to calm down. I don't know why God is a man, but then again I Did Not read the Bible. I also know that you didn't, other wise you wouldn't be asking this question because the answer is in there.
All Gods are NOT ALL male there are females too, and I don't see what this has to do with equal love.....?? kinda lost me on that..... The Bible can answer you on these type of questions you have here.

That makes no sense. God is portrayed in the bible as male because that is how He revealed Himself. Could have been because of the culture of the time, I cannot speculate on this. However I don't see what the problem is. I am a conservative feminist, and I have no problem seeing God as a male. Of course I am secure being a woman that I am not threatened by males.

Most religions developed during times in which societies were patriarchal. Women were property.
There are goddesses in several pagan faiths and Hinduism. I don't know about any worm gods, though...although Egyptian gods often had at least some animal characteristics.

God can not be described by human terms... but, when God spoke to man he refered to himself in the masculin. For the prophets of god to report otherwise would have voided their position as prophet... They were required to report what God said not to put it in their own words. God said he was The Father and that is what was recorded.

been inspired by that God, and they all refer to him as a "HE"
