Yeah sore knuckles are not "man"'s area of expertise, but they can whine for hours about their butt crack and how sore their's is all the time. Oh and don't let them get started about their jaw or tonsils. I guess that's why man's known around the highway rest stops as "ben-gay"

When using the heavybag always use handwraps and bag gloves. Wrap your hands correctly. If you are using the heavybag for the first time or you have laid off the heavybag for awhile your knuckles will be sore. Your knuckles will toughen up. From my personal experience I worked thru my knuckles being sore and everything turned out fine. What the handwraps will do is protect your knuckles and "fuse" your wrist and hands together as one unit.

It is normal. But you should give your hands/fists/knuckles their fair share of recuperation and repair. Soon, your guns will adapt to the load and will become cannons of destruction.
When you think your hands have adapted, compare knuckles' durability to your newbie friends and you'll be surprised that your fists are much durable and stronger due to your hard training.

Yes, it's normal. I started last summer. My foster dad got me into it. Use hand wraps under your bag gloves. If your hand starts feeling spraned, then take a few days off. Focus on your technique, and just keep pounding away. If a few months, it will get better, then you will start being able to hit even harder.
