"Inspectors found $78,883 on Dinssa and in his luggage — $60,000 more than Dinssa reported carrying when questioned by Customs agents, Keen wrote. A drug-sniffing dog smelled narcotics on the money, Keen added. No drugs were found, Palmore said.

Inspectors examined Dinssa's computer after they noticed he did not have a power cord for it, which they considered unusual, Keen wrote. Inspectors found downloaded files about cyanide and nuclear materials, Keen wrote.

"When questioned about the materials on his laptop, Dinssa stated that he was interested in learning about cyanide and nuclear materials," Keen wrote.

"There are a lot of missing pieces to the puzzle," Palmore said"

Carry money as allowed under the law for travel expenses only. Cyanide and nuclear documentary materials are prohibited in baggages unless authorized under the statutes.

Well, I don't carry $78,883 because it is illegal to take that much out of the country. Also a laptop without a power cord might be explained because most countries are on a different current than the US. Maybe he was using batteries until he could get to the other country and buy a power cord there.

He could just have been curious about arsenic and nuclear things.

The only real offense is lying about the cash and trying to take it out of the country,oh, and being ethnic (which apparently is a crime under the current presidential regime)

Good doggie! found the person that could have terroristic intentions!

There is NO EXCUSE for NOT having a power cord with one's laptop when travelling -- I ALWAYS have the power cord AND the Power Inverter too -- because a laptop is limited to a short period of time without being connected. There is NO way that anyone can go even a half-day without having to plug in a laptop -- and I know how much power my own laptop uses (and yes, I do use the power inverter in my car to charge between travel stops). That LACK of the Power Cord is DEFINITELY Suspicious!

Congratulations to the Customs Dog who 'sniffed' out the case!

This is beyond suspicious.

For starters, not declaring amounts over $10,000 in cash is illegal. As for the other stuff, who knows? But they've already got him on a righteous charge, so he'll have to deal.

Personally, I carry some cash, credit cards, and a passport, and as little baggage as possible.

He was interested in learning about (translate to purchasing) cyanide and nuclear materials.

Kudos to the drug sniffing dog and its handler. Good dog!
