I make jokes about myself to myself, and I also tell a good friend I trust what I did, and sometimes their point of view makes me feel better, and sometimes they think I'm a fool too and they help me laugh about it. After a while the humiliation goes away and you forget about it until the next time you get embarrassed. Everyone goes through it, so don't be too hard on yourself.

Rather than getting embarrassed, I look at unusual situations as opportunities to lighten up. For example, I attended a function last week wearing a beautiful sheer over-blouse. A nice lady came and informed me that my blouse was on inside out. I told her please don't tell anybody...the blouse is fine, I'm the one who is inside out. She looked at me totally puzzled and then started laughing when she saw that I was laughing. We had a nice conversation. I went to the lady's room, fixed my blouse and joked with my friends about my blouse adventure. Why get embarrassed when you can have funny moments to remember instead!

Tell someone about the incident like you would a joke. You'll be surprised how funny and lighthearted it becomes when you and a friend can laugh about it together.

forget about whatever happened. if you show people that it doesn't bother you, then it's no fun for them to tease you so they forget about it quickly. Also, when you think about whatever happened, you get even more embarressed and it bothers you more. You just have to remember that no one is perfect and all humans make mistakes.

Know that whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

Extreme embarrassment will be just a memory one day.
