When I load the chip from the camera into the computer do I automatically remove the pics from the chip, or can I duplicate them onto the computer w/out removing them from the chip?

You should be prompted by the program you are using and given the choice.

In Microsoft XP, if you use the Scanner and Camera Wizard, you have both the options. You have to uncheck the Box that says, Delete pictures from Camera after copying.

It also becomes a remobvable device in your Disk list. Double click on My Computer. You would see the camera in the list. You can double click on the camera icon and copy the contents to a folder of your choice.

While deleting from this (using the second process), be careful, not to delete any files that are different from jpg, jpeg etc as most cameras have the system files in the same directory. I screwed one camera using this process.

when u load the pics u basically send a copy the pics are still on the camera til u urself delete them
