Detailed observation.
I like computers, clean drinking water, modern medicine, safe food, refrigeration, central heating, wash and wear fabrics, electrical lighting, lightning rod protection for buildings, airplanes and helicopters,...(would you like me to go on?)
instead of polluted water and smoky fires with no chimneys or having a "barber" bleed you or a priest beat the devil out of you when you got sick like in the world the religious fought to maintain.

I can do neither.
I'm not particularly religious and so don't insist on strict definitions for divinity in my life (Although that doesn't mean I can't be spiritual).
As for living my live according to detailed scientific observation, my day to day problems don't work that way. Getting to work, getting dressed in the morning, paying the bills, doing my job, shaving, etc..., etc..., are all things I do from a practical point of view -- If I had to make a detailed scientific observation of everything before acting, I wouldn't get much done in a day.

Mistaken divinity all the way! The reasons why would be that its simply more fun! Living your whole life on detailed scientific observation takes the fun out of life because everything is so predictable. For example, wouldn't you like a significant other who is unpredictable or one that is? With mistaken divinity, your searching for clues, relying on faith, experiencing emotions that you cannot explain, and all in all your being a better person for it.

mistaken divinity- I chose to go into a career that deals a lot with science and I think I appreciate nature less now. Or I just am not as much in awe of it. There are some things I would rather just appreciate and not understand the tedious explanations behind their existence.

How are you determining divinity to be mistaken? Proof? Is scientific observation flawless? Every other report tells me that the things that were bad for me are now good and 5 years later they are bad for me again. I think both require faith, we just get to choose who or what we put our faith in.

How do you live your life according to scientific observations? I plant my garden according to scientific observations. I expect my doctor to examine me using scientific observations, but I live my life with love, which is a very real gift from our very real Heavenly Father.

Religion and science have the same goal. They are humanities ways of trying to explain the universe and the world around them. One is based on fact and theory, the other on fables.
PS: To the person who thinks you need religion to have morals. Do you believe Bin laden has morals hes religious. Do you think the priests who molest children have morals? No, there just like any other group of people bad and good.

I'd rather live my life knowing that there is tons of scientific evidence proving the bible and Jesus to be true and real. If you're open minded, read chapter 6 of the book "The Signature of God" by Grant Jeffrey for scientific proof.
