You do your growing when you are sleeping. My 3 year old daughter has aches in her legs and hips when she is about to start a growth spurt. My 14 year old daughter starts to trip a lot right before she shoots up again. I think it's normal to feel aches and such as the soft tissues begin to stretch to accommodate the bone growth. My toddler daughter's appetite decreases, and my teenage daughter eats like a horse right before. Just eat healthy and take some ibuprofen, lots of water and good rest.

You do not feel a growth spurt, it is simply a natural process of the body. Mine occurred over a period of about two to two and a half months. When I left the 6th grade for the summer, I was 4'8. When I came back in the fall for 7th grade, I was 5' tall.

Yes, you usually eat a lot more food which is normal, and sometimes your mussels hurt, or you feel a little off balance.
It doesn't happen overnight, just over a long period of time, like a summer.
