I've heard nurmous complaints about their kittens and cats.

Most of you probably work all day and expect your indoor cats to be perfectly wonderful when you get home, well, that is not the case.

These are animals that are left indoors all day and get soooo bored.

Most of your complaints are because of this.

A lot of cats do many things in the house because they need to be outdoors. THEY ARE BORD.

Get a cage, or fenced area and get them out.

Sorry for all you apartment owners, but this is the reason for most of your complaints.

P.S. Some cats cannot live indoors.

There is a difference between complaining about things that are just natural for cats to do, and asking concerned cat questions as I have.

most cats CAN live indoors if their owners provide proper mental stimulation.. which may mean a bit more work on thier part...
cats like "new" toys.. or at least toys they think are new.. this is easily accomplished if you leave some toys out for like 2 weeks then switch them for some different toys
moving the cats furniture or tipping it over often stimulates new interest

cats deal with boredom extremely well.. much better than dogs do (well especially better than the more intelligent breeds of dogs do)
some breeds of catsdo much better indoors only (Persians for example as they were bred to be more "relaxed")

however I agree many cat owners complain about usual cat behavior far too much

like people who get kittens then complain about clawing... argh....

I have had a cat run for my cats in the past and it worked great.. I would certainly prefer to see cats have cat runs rather than running loose

I don't complain about my cat, I accept that she is an animal. She is the most loving and healthy and playful cat and I will come home to a roll of shredded toilet paper or things knocked off my shelves but she's playing and amusing herself while I am at work - I clean it up and move on and figure out how to arrange the apartment to keep her to just playing with toys and not hair brushes.... I never complain - I am in an apartment and can't let her out. People who complain shouldn't get a pet.

BELOW - what is cyaoza's point?? I'm a new pet owner and post questions to ask people for advice - isn't that the point of this website????

It took me some time to understand why my cat did this and that, but I love her so much I couldn't care less how naughty she is. Once I gave her attention, more than just taking her to the vet and brush her teeth, she stopped acting irresponsibly.
And this is not like lavishing attention, just when we are at home, we will play with her or let her sleep on my lap.
This is what people don't understand. Cats can be our friends too, not only dogs. There is a reason why Mike Tyson's pet is a white tiger - it's a cat too!

I got 6 cats and counting. I NEVER complain because every thing my cats do is fascinating as hell to watch and I want to share with other cat lovers. I think they are cute and they are my children and like ANY pushover parent My furbabies can NEVER do any wrong. Have a PURRRRFECT day!

Some people complain about cats because there not cat people.lol.Some people might have trouble taking care and don't know how to train them and can't teach them not to do something.

I never once complained about my cat. I understood she needed space to play along....she ruled my house--it was her kingdom and I was fine with that because she was always there to greet me :)

because cats are ferocious. They bite you, the claw you, they hate you. Have you ever seen the web page about a dog's lilfe? it's gota an insert from a cat. It's about how it hates everything. That's how cats are they hate you.
