The doctrine of original sin is Catholic, not Biblical or Christian.
1) Baptism is for OUR sins, not someone else's. And therefore, the Bible does not advocate infant baptism. It is for those mature enough to believe and know what it is that they believe.
Jesus washes away the sins of those who accept his sacrifice in place of their own death. Those who have not accepted it are still in their sins. Another reason why babies are not baptized.
2) Jesus told Nicodemus the answer to the question on why we need to be born again:
Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." And, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." (John 3:3, 5-6)
3) Once a person has accepted the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and had their sins washed from them in baptism, they are a "new man". The "new man" acts differently:
"...that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another. "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:22-32)
Though Christians still have human nature to battle, they also have what other humans don't have -- the nature of God.
However, as Jesus acknowledged, overcoming sin is impossible WITHOUT GOD! (Matthew 19:26). But Christians ARE WITH GOD:
"But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His." (Romans 8:9)
And yet, sin is not overcome in a day. So, we are under grace -- that is, our sins (current and future) are covered by the blood of Jesus Christ while we learn to overcome sin.
True Christians do not continue in sin forever. They strive continually to put all sin out of their lives until the day they will be made in the image and likeness of Jesus.

Babies do not need baptism; baptism is a sign of making a choice to follow Jesus. We have to be born again because just because Jesus died for us we are not automatically saved. To be saved we have to believe and excepted that Jesus died on the cross. You have to dedicate your life to him and Trying to live like Him. The point of Jesus' sacrifice is that we go to Heaven to live with Him forever. Christians and non Christians still sin ,but the difference between that is ,non Christians continue to sin and don't care if they do. Christians feel sorry for their sin and repent and when Christians repent they are forgiven. This does not mean that Christians sin on purpose knowing that they will be forgiven,it means that they will try harder with God's help not to sin. If you have more questions about this talk to a Christian, read a Bible, or go to Biblegateway.com.

1) Baptism of infants was never a Christian practice. It is an "addition" to the Word of God.and will be so judged.
2) The born again experience; also known as conversion or the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, was made possible by the shed blood, death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. This brought power from on high to live the life of Christ and also the fire whereby God wrote the law of faith upon our hearts.
3) None.

Babies do not need baptism. Others need to be born again to signify we have accepted Jesus as our personal savior. The point of salvation is to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus and forgiven of our sins. The bible says if we sin after that, we have an advocate with the Father, that is Jesus, SO we repent and ask for forgiveness and we receive it.

Hi there. I'm no preacher by any means, but I've been a Baptist all my teen/adult life. Here's my viewpoint on your questions and I sincerely hope it helps:
1)Babies don't "have" to be Baptized. From what I understand, some people do that as a dedicational ceremony. In the Baptist religion, you would get Baptized after accepting Christ as your savior as a next step in the Baptist religion. If you were killed after being saved and "before" your Baptism took place, you still go to heaven. Baptism doesn't get you to heaven, getting saved does.
2)You have to be born again to get into heaven. Bottom line. The Bible says the wages of our sins is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Also, refer to John 3:16.
3)When you are a born again Christian, it's not a declaration that you will never sin again. But you're positioned (after accepting Christ) to begin walking with him the rest of your life, studying the bible, going to church, talking to God, asking for help and guidance in the world we live BECAUSE there is so much sin and temptation out there. Christians continue to pray individually, and with their church, to have a close relationship with the Lord, and in doing so when we have walked away from the Lord or done something wrong, we should be the first on our knees to ask for forgiveness. (Remember, we are the Lord's children, and just like any other child, we too have to be corrected, educated, and constantly learning).
In closing, remember getting saved is a personal decision and there IS no right age, as it should be done when you are of knowledgable age. (In otherwords, I wouldn't take a child by the hand to the front of the church to get saved. They need to make that decision on their own at the right age) HOWEVER, the parent DOES need to have them IN the church, learning and worshiping so that decision is made at that child's knowledgable age. (God knows when that is, and if they are serious) If they pass away prior to that, all babies and children and those who were not of knowledgable age, as well as mentally retarded, would go to heaven. I believe this. Our Lord is a good Lord, and a compassionate Lord. Everything we do, should be done as if the Lord is standing right beside us, because he IS! Hope this helps.

The death and resurection of Jesus was a sacrifice. Jesus being perfect took on the sins of mankind and was sacrificed on the cross. This is why God the Father "forsake" him......because Jesus became sin, (by taking on our sins). We are not automatically saved because of this. We must realize that we are all sinners, ask God to forgive us our sins...(repent), confess our belief that the Lord Jesus Christ is the son of God and died on the cross...was buried and rose again the third day.
Baptism is for the born again christian......it is a public testimony of salvation. It demonstrats the death, burial and reserection of our Savior and our belief that the rapture is coming, and we will take on new bodies......(not human anymore!! Therefore no more sin!!)

From a Christian perspective:
1. Baptism of babies is not Biblical
2. Being born again is the act of receiving the sacrifice Christ made
3. The sacrifice of Christ was so full and complete that is cleanses ALL sin.
Blessed Be

babies get baptize because their parents are dedicating their child to God and to bring up to know and love God. Sometimes we are born again because we stray away for awhile then realize we can't do things on our own and we know that we need God. Sometimes we continue to do the same sin. and we ask forgiveness not to do it again and try to find a way not to. but with today's society it is hard not to sin. but we try our best not to. you just have to remember that our sin is forgiven and forgotten by God. there is a song called "What Sin" by morgan cryer, if you get a chance listen to it.

Come on now, I could site the same fallacies of Islam! Want me to!
You know better!
1). Jesus himself got baptized, hence the need for it.
2). You get born again in the spiry\it of Christ -- and you know Islam preaches a similar concept.
3). You're not supposed to go on sinning. You're supposed to follow the rules -- just like in Islam. If you believe in Allah and smoke and drink and gamble and wear bikinis in public, you now they aren't following Islam!
Grow up Poki
The primary difference is that Jesus didn't marry a 6 year old girl and consumate with her at age 9.
If I ever found out Jesus did that, I'd become an Atheist!
Sorry, I don't beleive in that and I insist every Catholic priest do does nasty things with teenagers should get ousted immediately and put in jail of the events are proven!
No one is allowed to do things to children. That's just sick. Wait til they're adults. ANYONE, I don't care what their relgion, hands off anyone under 16 or in some cases 17.
Truly it should be 18, but it seems a lot of people accept 16, so I'll with it as a minimal age.
One day YOU will have a 9 year old daughter. You really want some OLD GUYS whosgow being stuck into her!
In my view ANYONE who would let that happen or do that to a 9 year old girl should be put up against a wall and SHOT.
Better yet, Islamic punishment. The blade!
LEt the Father the Mother and the MAN who does it all get made a head shorter!

well jesus died to wash away the sins of adam and eve because god said after adam and eve sined that no one will enter in to heaven untill jesus came. and after adam and eve sinned God said to them that because of there sin all of there children will suffer for which means everyone who is born is born with original sin which can only be washed away by babtism. im sry but i dont under stand the 2nd question. the pont of jesus sacrife was to die for the sins of adam (which is our sins too)and the only thing that would be agoodenough sacrifice would be for God (jesus) to die for us. And he showd us his love for us when he died for us. Jesus when he died opened the gaits of heaven when he died so that everyone befor him that had to wait so log could go be with God.
