every spare minute you have put on a coat of clear nail polish. By the end of the day you have about an inch of polish, but just take it off and start over the next day..
I started that trick when I was 14 and I stopped biting my nails in 2 days, I had long healthy nails in about a month, and 30 years later I can't break my nails if I try.

i used to do it ! since i was a young girl till i went to uni and that's at least 10 years !

i have tried every thing the bad tasting medicines the socks in the hand the mints the .... the ..... etc i can name them all if you want to !!! nothing really worked till once i seen one if my nails tall and it was so cute so i couldn't touch it and i followed it by my other nails and still till today i don't touch them !

doing a manicure every week with nail rings with pictures and stuff its really fun you just have to think about that when ever you feel like biting them off :)

good luck and wishing you a nice weekend :)

My daughter (age 6) was biting her nails. I promised that if she let her nails grow out that I would take her to get a manicure. She stopped and I made good on my promise and took her to get a manicure. She thought it was so cool and so far she hasn't been biting.

From my experience, clear nail polish or anything that tastes nasty does not help. It took my cosmetology teacher smacking me in the head every time i bit on my nails to get me to stop biting them. lol But seems how not everyone can have someone that helpful around....just try to keep yourself occupied in other ways. Try painting....pictures, ceramic houses, etc. Or needlework....crotchet, knitting, etc. Anything to keep your mind off of biting your nails. It really works. I had to get both my kids into painting and video games(small doses) to get them to stop biting their nails.
Hope this helps and good luck!

put nailpolish remover on your nails every few days...your nails will taste so gross and the taste doesn't leave your mouth...it works...believe me...hot sauce is an incentive for some people, and no one likes the taste of nailpolish remover so..good luck!!
