With your current weight and height, your body mass index (a calculation based on weight and height ) is very well above 30 which is considered obese. You want to try to get your BMI down below 30 and preferably into the 23-26 range. So your goal weight for your height would be around 125-135 pounds. I know this is a lot of weight to lose, but for health reasons you really must do it. I have had a lot of success with my patients in helping them lose weight and get their BMI to goal with The South Beach Diet. Stay away from the Atkins Diet!!!! I repeat stay away from the Atkins Diet. Just not healthy for your body. Another pretty successful one is Nutrisystem but it is a bit costly but effective. And then there is the good old fashion way. You must burn more calories than you take in and the only way to do that it is to exercise to boost your metabolism, and cut the calorie intake by not having second helpings, dont eat in between meal snacks, but if you do, make them low calorie things, fruits, vegetables (raw), sugar free jello, low fat yogurt. I am not familiar with "Stuffer31". If you were trying to "lose" weight, why did you go on a product that makes you "gain" weight? Were you doing it for a particular sport, like wrestling where there are different weight classes? Anyway, try some of these suggestions.
I hope you can get to your goal as described above. You will feel better, look better and your cardiovascular system will thank you in the long run by a longer, healthier life!
Good luck.
MOTIVATION is the key!!!!! It took you years of certain habits, so dont get discouraged if it takes you several months to a year to get the weight off. It is all about permanent lifestyle changes.
To your health,
Warren Shaffer, M.D.

Dieting alone won't do a lot. But take up running (or walking, at first), and do it often. Take an MP3 player with you and enjoy the opportunity to listen to your music. As for you're eating habits, eating 5 or 6 small meals (as opposed to 3 big ones) will increase you're metabolism quicker.
