The pyramids were built mostly in the early centuries of Egypt to house the bodies of their dead kings. The king was seen as chosen by the gods to act as their intermediary to the people, and after his death he would rejoin them. His status was as high in death as it was in life, and pyramids were built to reflect this, and to ease his return to the gods. Slave labour was not used, as construction was only carried out after the harvest, when workers were not needed on the fields, and they were paid by the state. Even so, it was a massive drain on manpower and resources.

People were never interred alive in pyraminds, although there were often smaller structures within the same pyramid complex for the king's family and close advisors to be buried in when thy died. Despite similarities of position, the stars of Orion's belt do not match up exactly with the pyramids at Giza. The Egyptians of the time were fully capable of the mathematical and architectural skills needed to build the pyramids themselves.

they were built as tombs for the pharoahs. no one actually knows how they were built but one cool thing is that the pyramids at Giza line up with the 3 stars on the constellation orions belt. also one other thing is that archeoligists found a piece of metal in one of the pyramids and did carbon testing on it and found that they were from the year two thousand sixty something. a tribe close to there said that their ancestors there saw a flying saucer and wierd things came out.

They Egyptians build the pyramids as a tomb for their kings, the Pharohs. They belived them to be close to their gods, and so they created grand structrues for them. All of the pyramids are prepared with the Pharoh's riches so that they could enjoy the afterlife.

the EGYPTIAN PYRAMIDS were built as tomb for the Pharaohs of Egypt, nothing more than that.

It does show some remarkable engineering skills for that era.
