I was talking to my friend about this, and it's like, I've had so many great years and now that I'm an old man and I'm just a shadow of my former self, maybe it's time to just do the right thing-- the humane thing-- and just have someone put me down. It won't be a painful process, on the contrary, it will end all the aches and pains I've aquired now that I'm a senior citizen. I think it's the right thing to do now. I only ask that you don't throw away my favorite pair of slippers to chew on... ;-)

Are you insane?
As long as you are not in any pain...I mean real pain, not just the standard aches and pains that you get from being old.
Wouldn't it be nice to just 'go'...when it is your time. Not a time set for you by someone that has the 'power' to 'put you down'.
You sound like you are an old soul for a dog. And lived a wonderful good full life. You are very blessed and so are your people.
Maybe your humans are really feeling sorry for you and it really hurts them. But hey, just because they are uncomfortable in the age that you have become does not mean that you should be put out of 'their' misery.
Keep living until the living is done. You learn something new everyday and give a smile to those that love you.
You are lucky that you are able to live until you are taken. So many other furry kids out there don't have a choice. But it sounds like you do.
And.....it sounds like you are loved very, very much.
So enjoy sticking around until it's your time. Live it up..'kinda' haha and keep slobbering on those slippers!!!!!
'And this is for your people......even if you have to clean up an accident here and there it's ok. Someday you will be having them too' ;o)

This is not nonsense. He is comparing humans to animals. When people just want to euthanize an animal because they are old. Trust me, 27 is not a senior citizen. There are always going to be good things to come. And there are pain meds for your aches and pains. To help you feel more comfortable in your 'old age' Just make sure to see the doctor yearly to keep up on your health. You'll be just fine. And think...you still get to chew on those slippers as Much as you want in the Future :)

I take it by the way your asking your question that you are being sarcastic. I'm not sure why you feel this way but I'll share a story about an "old " dog. My Shar-Pei was just shy of 10 years old when my husband and I made the heart wrenching decision to end his life in a humane way. This event just took place last Sunday the 12th of November. He was suffering horribly from cancer. We just couldn't stand to see him suffer from his affliction and deteriorate so bad and so fast. No longer could he eat , run , play or even sleep for that matter.With a heavy heart and alot of prayers we took him in so we could do the "humane thing". God it was hard. My husband who is a 18 year veteran firefighter and the epitome of manhood, about fell to his knees and was heart broke with the rest of our family. We still grieve for our beloved pet today.. So the answer to your question is.... if your suffering from Cancer and cant eat,drink sleep, run, and play and have no quality of life anymore... yeah someone should make the "humane" decision to put you down too.

UR ONLY 27!!! I THINK PEOPLE START GETTING OLD WHEN THEY ARE 30!!!! Ur almost there but you can still be hott until ur 40 as long as you take good care of yourself.... I'm guessing you don;t have a kid because if and when you do trust me you won't want to die.... never. Try and get a gf... someone you really love and someone who really loves you... have some kids... maybe a dog... and chill... you still have so many years to go don't even think about dying yet ok..... I hate to say it CF, but you must not be from america. the goold ol USA can not put limits on the amount of children one can have, nor can they "euthenise" people. (This is a bit of a riciculous theory) The thought of it is unbelieveable, and stupid. I mean, people in the US have a right to live peacefully, and freely. Therefor...so long as what I am doing does not infringe upon your rights...I'm perfectly safe....euthenising someone would be an infringement upon their rights.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ya I know EXACTLY how you feel I just turned 27 on Monday. Thirty looks awful mean, and I can't stop thinking that I am almost 30. So we could make it a party and be put down together.
