I know this is a commonly asked question, but I want to know.
1st of all, my hair is REALLY CURLY. I have kinky tight curls. I'm african american, so yeah... You know how it is. I don't want to get extensions or anything like that...

So would getting my hair chemically straightened be good?
Will it be sleek straight?

Once you start you won't be able to stop. It is a lot of maintenance. Go to a salon, not a school. They will apply it all over your hair and since it is your fist time you may feel stinging or itching. You will have breakage and it is not recommended on recently colored hair and you won't be able to color for some weeks. It's not healthy but with the right stylist it can work out.

Well, I'm half African-American and half white. I used to get my hair chemically straightened, and it isnt even that curly. I ended up just like frizzing my hair and it didnt look too nice. Some of my friends with curlier hair get theirs chemically straightened, but it looks so unnatural and stiff. I ended up just relaxing it and I have like loose curls low. maybe you should try relaxing it a little bit and wear it curlier?

A hair salon can do this for you. Bear in mind tho, when new hair starts growing , the same procedure has to be repeated. We cannot change our NATURAL hair texture, that's all I know! I'v tried for the last many years - so don't let any hair stylist/hair dresser tell you that you can ! If you are convinced you can, you will eventually notice that it was only TEMPORARY !!

for virgin hair, it will take a while for the hair to be bone straight but the best advice is to get it done professionally. get someone to recommend a stylist and disuss with the person what you want and use little heat to style your hair in order to avoid breakage
