Not asking the aethists, only the religious. I want to know if any belief system is wrong. If not I could technically make up any belief system (ANY) and it could be right, right?

I think the only "wrong" belief systems are the ones that cause the believers to hurt themselves or others.

Most religious belief systems do not encourage the followers to hurt others. But many followers misinterpret the practices and just do what they personally feel. Thereby creating a new corrupt belief system.

I think right now many people think Islam is "wrong" because it "incites terrorism", however, the Koran clearly states that violence is wrong.

Yes, you could make up your own religion. There are people who consider themselves Jedi. A system of belief based on the Star Wars movies.
Scientology is based on the beliefs of a hack fiction writer.
Then there are Moonies who follow Sun Young Moon. Which is thought to be a cult.

I think as long as you don't hurt yourself or others you can pretty much do what you want.

Good Luck with that...can I be a saint?

u can argue wrong and right until the end of the world. what u should ask is does the system work? from what i can see and what i have lived, religions make people feel bad about themselves and i don't think that's god's intention at all. i have been living by my own made up belief system for some years now and i will never go back to organised religion.

to me no belief system is wrong or right. people have the right to believe what they want to believe. no belief system is wrong, but no belief system is right either. people will always believe what they think is right. everyone beliefs are different. if you got 20 people of the same religion in the same room together, and ask them the same question you will come up with all sorts of different answers. that is because they all read or study the same thing but they believe something different. a belief system of any kind to me is neither wrong or right. people can believe what they want to believe. believe what you think is right or what you want to.

That is a very hard question to answer.
Every single human being is different, i like to think of myself as being in my own personal belief system.
Religions provide guidance, its how you interpret that.

If any belief system were right, and one says that everybody gets to go to heaven no matter what, and my belief system says that you will go to hell if you don't believe in Jesus.

Am I right?

They both can't be right

So, no!

I believe that the catholic church is wrong, because they justified the killings of thousands of Innocent people. Many of these were pagans, and the catholic church want a religious monopoly in Europe, and the pagan faith was the one of the biggest opponents to that goal. So they set many pagans on fire, and other religions.

No, I believe that there is more than one way to find God, or whatever you choose to believe in. My only exception is people that hurt other people in the name of religion.

A belief system must include a personified god - someone that accesses infinity for us.
