Besides the fact that you'd be cheating yourself out of an education, you might engage in some pretty embarrassing behaviors, like drooling, farting and snoring.

Depends on the class. Some teachers don't test on what they lecture, and you might get as much good out of the zzz's as the class.
BUT, you are paying for the class -- or your parents are, either through tuition or tax payer dollars or both. So, you should demand something in return for your time. Or drop out and work at a Burger King for the rest of your life -- you only get so much time on this earth, you need to make the best use of it.
The practical answer is: teachers don't really require you to read everything in the text book and memorize it. What they lecture on is generally what they think are the important points, and that's more likely to show up on the test.
Also, a textbook can't tackle every single angle of an issue. The teacher, presumably, has read a lot of books on the subject, and if there's something you don't understand, you can ask him/her to explain it further in class.
Good luck, and get some sleep.

When you sleep in class, you miss things that may be very important for you to know. Like something the teacher covers while you're sleeping could be on the next test. If you were asleep when this was covered you lose points on the test because you miss the question or questions.

reasons why its rude to sleep in the classroom:
1. its VERY! rude
2. disrespectful to the teacher
3. you have to be at school, so you might as well get something out of it and sleep at home in a comfier bed
4. the teach will probably deduct marks if you do, so just don't!
5. you might snore or something and embarrass yourself
6. you won't learn anything, and everything is ten times harder when you have to read it out of a textbook by yourself
7. you can miss some valuable information on what is going to be on your exam, test, quiz, etc. it can make a difference of a pass or a fail!
8. sleeping in class can mean that you have no self-discipline, you don't know when to stop reading/watching TV/doing homework and sleep.
9. sleeping in class can also mean that you have no self respect as you need self-respect to give respect to others.
my advice, just don't sleep in class!

You mean in high school or college? High school could have punishment for those who sleep in the classes. I got a friend who slept during the class and he woke up at like 4 Pm, which is like three hours he overslept and two hours after school is over. College, you would be wasting your good money if you had scholaships except you are paying on you own.

You are missing out on the lesson that is being taught to you, then when the test comes you might not know the information. You could also have a pop quiz on the material and you fail that because you were sleeping during the lesson.

well either way its rude to the theacher and shows no respect. and if its for college you pay for the class so pretty much you can do whatever... but i guess some people would say its rude.

It is bad because you will miss stuff and your grades will suck if you decide to sleep in class.
