Celebrate Christmas and Birthdays?
Not observe the Memorial of the Last Supper on the day Christ said to?
Not have any knowledge of what day each year, without looking at a calendar, the Last Supper took place on?

There have been many questions on here about why JWs only have one observance, and they can show from any Bible why, so can you show from any Bible why they are wrong about these specific observances. This is not a question about any of their other beliefs, so if you answer with anything else besides on this subject, it only shows you don't know the answer and/or don't care to know.

JWs, I know you are itching to answer, but don't touch that keyboard. You may play with the mouse. We already know you can answer the last one using only a pocket watch and observations of the moon.

I see several of those below did just what I expected, answered with anything but an answer, while completely ignoring the questions about the day that was important to Christ. Must not have thought what was important to him to be of any importance.

I'm not a legalist, and all that stuff has nothing to do with salvation. Faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of personal sins is what saves. By faith you are saved. Not by whether you practice or abstain from Christmas and birthdays. That doesn't matter.

And to be saved, get away from the JW cult. Faith in Jesus is salvation, not faith in the JW crap

Celebrate Christmas and Birthdays?
Not observe the Memorial of the Last Supper on the day Christ said to?
Not have any knowledge of what day each year, without looking at a calendar, the Last Supper took place on?

-------------------------------
There is no Scripture that commands the observance of Christmas or birthdays. Neither is there a command to observe the Lord's Supper on any particular day, but Paul quotes Jesus saying "As often as you do it"
1 Corinthians 5:8 "Let us therefore celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth."
Keeping of feasts and holidays as part of salvation, as part of the Jewish system was condemned by Paul in Galatians.
There is no law of grace, "just by grace through faith."

You are NOT being fair!!!!!! I am putting this on my watch list, yes....I am itching to answer

B'nai Shalom
I hope you have a wonderful Sabbath!

Okay, I have to say one more thing.....after reading some of the other responses I just want to add......Yahweh, by his own account does not change.......why then would the Lord tell us to celebrate these specific 'Holy' days and then later change his mind. If the Lord changed his mind about that then how can we believe anything that he says. Saying that the Lord does not expect you to follow any of his law is like calling him a liar. As said in MATTHEW 5:18 For verily I say unto you, ""Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

WWJD? I laugh anytime I see this on a Christian's bumper.....
Jesus kept All the feasts of the Lord
Jesus kept ALL the laws of the torah, including the diatery laws

Though we are of two different religions I respect the fact that JW's do not celebrate pagan holidays

You ask this question because you believe that people are saved by works and by that the saving of souls or how many people you can convert to what you perceive as your truth.

You cannot find a place in the Bible where it tells you not to celebrate these things either, and in case you were not informed the calandar of today is not the calandar of the times of Jesus.

The Roman calandar was changed I believe there was one month erased, but the days of the week were never touched.

I believe everyone should follow what they believe to be true and should not have people trying to shove what they believe down their throat. Why do you transfer yourselves from house to house, when Jesus so implicitly taught his disciples to let the people come to them, so that those who were called would willingly receive the message of the good news of salvation, and why do you judge that what others believe to be the wrong belief, Jesus talked of His church and the sister church and of letting the chaffe grow among the wheat so that no one would be left aside that had good in his heart until the time comes for the thrashing and there is only one who knows the hearts of men, and I am sure yours is of a good intention, may God bless you in your belief and forgive you for your judgements. peace.

i am not aware of any scriptures that say that people should celebrate Christmas and Birthdays. But Christians celebrate Christmas as a celebration of the Saviors birth. The world has turned this most sacred event into an all out malay of capitalism and money spending. it has been corrupted beyond belief. As for the birthday stuff, i have no idea, that is just something that people do i guess.

I know I am probably answering you question wrong because I don't have any specific scriptures to go by. But that is partly because I feel they probably do not exist.
Their beliefs on Holidays, I fear is probably as distorted as the Pentecostals who believe women should NEVER cut their hair because in 1 Corinthians 11:14-15 is says women with LONG hair have glory.
However, they themselves added the do not cut part.
I personally have long hair, but you know what? It was cut this year, and I plan to cut it here soon, but will still have long hair.

My idea on the Bible is to follow it AS WRITTEN...DO NOT add to it, and DO NOT leave anything out. God is perfect, he doesn't need us editing his word.

So, I will check back in on your question to see if someone has those scriptures because if they are in the Bible...I will follow them. I'm still new in studying the bible, and so I still have a lot to learn.

celebrating birthdays is kind of like a tradition, just like celebrating marriage anniversary's, and christmas is another tradition that we celebrate Jesus' birthday.

Colossians 2:16
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

this is the first verse i could think of that backs up Celebrations, there ya go :)

How about this for a question instead. Where does it say in the bible that JW Christians should come, and knock on my door every six months even after I tell them not to come to my house anymore? Why don't you worry about your church instead of what other churches do.

Excuse me for not answering your question, but it may have been the luckiest day of your life being kicked out of the Kingdom Hall. I hope you now know the true Jesus and the true word of God.
