I always thought he worked so hard that he just sleeped from Dec 26 thru around Thanksgiving on the next year so he could wake up, have a good turkey dinner and start building toys and reading fan mail and getting ready for the next big delivery run!

Somewhere on the Korvatunturi mountain in the Savukoski country of Lapland, Finland.
There are no reindeer at the North Pole but plenty in Lapland. And, where else on earth could Santa vacation and park his transportation at the same time?
Besides, he can yodel from the top of a mountain. Good practice for his Ho, Ho, Ho!

he'd go far far, far away from ignorant people who still believe in Santa.
If you are a kid and still believe in him, I hate to bring this cold reality to you, but it's unhealthy to believe in Santa. Have your parents explain commercialism to you and then have them explain why a man from the uninhabited north pole in a red suit with flying reindeer who breaks into houses and places things under trees is related to Christianity. Then talk to them about how Santa is really much more of a pagan belief (Elves? flying animals?).
So yeah... he vacations far, far away from you. In fact, he doens't vacation at all. He just doesn't exist.
Call me a grump, but it's just the truth.

He goes to Las Vegas. In fact I have seen him there in his off time on a few occassions. Once he was on a run at the craps table. I believe he prefers the Bellagio.
