it is best to steam them in the microwave. i put my veggies in a bowl with a couple of ice cubes, cover them and cook for only a few minutes. don't over cook or they will be mushy.

No, cooking in the micro with a minimum of water preserves the nutrients and vitamins while boiling veggies loses these nutrients much fast and are lost in the boiling water.

only if you use alot of water- the vitamins soak into the water and so you're left with less then before. Steaming vegtables is the best way to cook them. If that isn't convienent then use minimal water.

Any cooking of veggies will remove a lot of the nutrients.
Nuking them in the micro, as long as you only use the bare minimum of water, is one of the better ways to limit this loss.
