There are a few comedy routines that have something like this as the basis:
A son asks his father, "How will I know when I meet the right woman?"
The father looks his son in the eye, and replies, "You will know because she will tell you..."
I personally don't read hints too well, and will miss subtle clues. I also firmly believe that women make up their own minds about things, and act accordingly.
If she wants me, she will let me know... 8)
