I love the Lord but I want to grow more in the grace and knowlege of the Lord Jesus Christ. How do you further develop your walk with Christ on a daily basis? How do you futher develop the fruits of the spirit found in Galatians 5?

Jesus said "What you did not do for the least of these, you did not do for me." When I look into the faces of others, I remember these words and I try to see Jesus in their faces. Being a Christian is about loving God by serving others. Try to look for opportunities reach out and lovingly serve others.
As far as the fruits of the spirit are concerned, I have found that if I concentrate on "love", all of the rest will come naturally.
We are all Chistians under construction. Blessings

Are You in the Spirit Today?

If some one was to ask you what it meant to be a Christian what would you tell them? Could they see it in the way you live your life? What kind of attitude should we have? Here is a simple guide to help under stand the fruits of the Spirit, and the attitude that a Christian should have. There was a time when I could care less about the fruits of the Spirit. I have since realized that it was much more important than I had ever thought. All of the fruits of the Spirit are actually the character of God. Then I realized that every thing that was opposite is the works of the flesh and Satan’s character.

Galatians 5:13-26 13. For you brethren have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
14. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
15. But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed one by another.
16. I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that you do not do the things that you wish.
18. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
20. Idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, out burst of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
21. Envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like: of which I tell you beforehand, just as I have also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23. Gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
24. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Look at all the words to see which ones describe you. If you are not sure that a certain word describes you, look at the definition. Use this as a reference to see if you are walking in the Spirit. If your daily life involves any of these circle them and praise God and ask for help and strength to walk in the Spirit in all areas of your life. Remember, to change you need to take responsibility for your actions, rethink what you believe and line it up with Gods Word, reject every unbiblical thought, review your new thoughts and write them down, resound (repeat) your new thought and speak them over your life.

These words were taken from the New King James Version Bible Galatians 5:22-23:

Love: To love in a social or moral sense,

Joy: Cheerfulness, A state of happiness, (also joy of the Lord is our strength)

Peace: Free from strife (fighting), at rest with God

Longsuffering: Patience, Long patient endurance of injury, trouble, or provocation

Kindness: A kind act, being kind

Goodness: Moral excellence, honesty, all around good

Faithfulness: Conviction of Gods truth, Reliance upon Christ for salvation.

Gentleness: Excellence in character, kindness

Self-Control: Control or restraint of ones actions, feelings, control of your flesh.

Man can not live by bread alone but by the Word of God the Word is food for the Spirit we must die to our fleshly desires and lust this is killing our old man putting him on the cross with Christ and be born again in Christ the more of the word we take in our spirit the stronger it will grow but be not just a hearer of the word but a doer of the word because faith without works is dead.

I would suggest following the ENTIRE Bible...not just finding parts that you like and leaving others out. The entire Bible is our guide, not just the parts we like.
Some examples I've recently found:

* It says women should be silent in church. I don't think God accepts the civil rights movement.

* It says speaking in tounges should be done when and only when there is someone to interpret. If not, it should be kept between you and God...and women should be silent in church. I've gone to so many where women are speaking in tongues in church. That to me is a double wrong.

Those are just a few things I have been studying lately, I'm sure there is more. And, as of Wednesday when I discovered them, I was silent in Church, and I plan to be from now on!!

Keep close to the Word. Keep in fellowship and bible study. Pray. Rejoice in praise and worship. Think about Him and His word and His ways. Know that every day belongs to Him and He loves you and never takes His eyes off you. Remember also that God is soverign, no matter what circumstances look like, His word promises us that He is making us into the image of His son. So we can always trust He works all things for good, just as He promises.

May God bless you for seeking Him!

Pray and read your Bible every time you get a chance
day or night
look up words you don't understand
Take each fruit and develope it to maturity.
Ask the Lord to fill you with fullness of him
Jesus said I will manifest myself to you, and take up my abode in you
He is the vine, we are the branches, if we abide in him,
he will abide in us

The secret is to love Him with all your heart, soul, strength and mind. When you understand this, and live in it, it will be more than a walk with Him, it will be a Love Affair.
