hatred is a sin, but I depise this guy at my church. Everyone think he's this great guy, but he's not. I know the real him...the one who said he would shoot his neighbor if it wasn't for God...the guy who told me (with pleasure) that I was going to Hell. The smug, little mr. can't be wrong. He's so cocky! Is God trying to see if I will remain faithful to Him and turn the other cheek, or love my enemy...or is it Satan trying to turn me away from my goal of turning my life around to serve God? Because right now I am fighting the urge to punch this guy, or do something to make him pay.

OK, first, vengeance belongs to God. if this man is the way you say he is, it sounds to me like he needs to learn how to be a Christian. The churches are full of people like him. Do not let him disturb your walk with God. Simply pray for him! And if he says something like telling you that you are going to hell again, TELL him that you are praying for him. Christians are not full of themselves, and cocky, and prideful. If they are like that, they are not being Christian. Tell him to read the sermon on the mount. Jesus gives us many guidelines to live by. If he can't do what Jesus says, he is not a Christian, plain and simple. Tell him that the word Christian means like unto Christ, and he is not. But you can demonstrate your love for him by praying for him. Even if nobody else knows that you are, Jesus will know, and that's all that matters. I know how you feel, believe me. There are a lot of people that I don't like very much, but we must tolerate them, and try our best to love them. Love in Christ. DL

Okay, let me simplify this for you. God created Satan to test us. So, you're right on both counts.

Second, are you going to hell? Do you have any scripturally based reason to believe you're going to hell? If not, then he is a fool. He's trying to manipulate you into doing something you'd regret later. so laugh it up. He can't send you to hell any more than I can.

On thing about Christians you may want to know. You're not the only one. I am certain that there is some one in the same church going through the same thing with the same guy. Church people tend to be passive. Not wanted to cause a scene.

And the next time he says that you're going to hell, say " Show me" get one of the preachers involved. explain to the preacher that you and him are having a religious debate about what it take to avoid damnation. Be certain to give him the opportunity to state is side first. This shows sportsmanship. He'll probably keep a safe distance from you after that. You'll find that preachers tend to be vary protective of the faithful.

I wouldn't associate with this person any longer. It could very well me saten using him to push you away from God. He may be fooling some people but he can't keep it up forever. The true self will always come out. If you have accepted Jesus as you personal savior then the holy spirit lives inside of you. Any reservetions you have, or gut feelings could very well be prompting by the holy spirit. You obviously know hatered is wrong, I suggest getting into the word more and not thinking about this person so much:-)

It's one and the same: God's TEST is allowing Satan and his dominion a carte blanche to tempt you in every which way... Get it?

You must have it in you to keep the Faith, stay on course, and remain steadfast by following The Law, no matter what. And if you do falter --as we all bound to do at one time or another-- then be fervent in asking for God's mercy and forgiveness once more.

Peace be with you.

Oh dear. I had a simliar experience once. The best thing to do is tell him how you feel with those remarks. Also, let him not get to you. May be it is not a test for you but for him. Just keep cool and remember, there is a reason why he is doing/saying all that. Remember god whenever you feel like beating him up. Say a little prayer for you and him. Peace!

I hope it is not God testing you but that man testing your patience. Turning the other cheek just give the evil doer the chance to be more assertive of his strength. I am not suggesting to put the law into your hands but be creative to purge the evil in that man when you have the chance. Do not show him that you are affected.
If he comes back to you and tells you that you are going to hell, then ask him to be your tour guide and say I know you live there.

God has given you the chance to love and serve Him.
Many people, godly and ungodly will cross your path as you do. Speak the word to them, and let God deal with them. Pray for them, and be an example of what a woman of God is. Don't let the false messenger keep you from the message or from fulfilling your ministry.

God bless you

If I were you, I would go before God and ask Him to forgive you for the way you are hating this man. Ask God to reveal to you what is going on in your heart. No matter what this man has to say....you need to keep your focus on the Lord and not despise anyone!

that is something that only the Holy Spirit can tell you. you need to pray and ask God to speak to your heart on this matter. and you need to keep in mind that if it is from God the outcome will not be sinful and it will NEVER lead you further away from God but towards HIM.

Both usually happen at the same time. God never tempts us so if we are tempted, it is from Satan...however God allows it to test us.
