Get something big, heavy and cheap, - witha "small engine" in it! This way they might live long enough to "really learn how to drive".
Forget the mileage,-- the "teen" is more valuesable than gas!! The small engine will make it too hard to "race" with!

I've been driving since 1952 and haven't had wreck yet!!

I recommend a mid-priced car such as a Dodge Stratus. My grandma has a Stratus and I love it: it's roomy and good on gas.

Another rule to consider: A car should not be older than the person driving it!

Expendable car please the first car a teenager uses dies a tragic death and hopefully not the kid. In america drivers ed is a goof off period. over 5,000 kids die each year. And kids think "Need For Speed" is how to drive we have failed our kids. Enroll him or her in a High performance driving school that has skid control and car control. And go your self and learn car control too.
