You should buy some test paint, before you go with a color completely and not like it.
However, I am told that paint is the easiest thing to fix/replace in terms of decor, so whatever you choose, if you end up wanting to go in another direction, it can be redone.
The color I would suggest is an accent wall lavender or gold, maybe even ox blood red.

How about a tropical, light green with a bit of sponged on deep yellow and a light blue sky colored ceiling. You always want the ceiling lighter. I forgot why. Now that I think about it, that sounds weird, so just get someone to paint a mural, picture of tropical trees with a light baby blue back round.(with the same colors listed above)

never neutral! It is not hard to paint one room. Pick a color from your bed spread, and have it matched. If you get tired of it in 6 months, choose another color.

In clothing, turquoise seems to go with many different skin tones and colors. Go to www.Behr.com and play around with a bluegreen color slightly on the warmish side. See how it goes.

A forest green but not to bright or dark if it is like to bright or dark mix it with a off white and experiment with it. Or you can do a tan thing with brown hints in it!
