Children love songs and music. This site has a whole bunch of piggyback songs that also teach something.

Crafts are another big hit. This site has a whole bunch of toddler craft ideas.
You could also take him to play groups. I don't know what you have in your area but here we have the Ontario Early Years Centre. It has play groups, planned activities, and a toy and book library, and best of all it's free.

I let my 2 year old paint....I get him finger paints and construction paper, and I also let him pick out little puppies or kitties from the craft isle (50cents each) and then I buy non toxic tempra type paint with paint brushes.....it wipes off with soap and water......he'll paint forever if I let him....he also likes his aqua doodle.....you just fill the marker with water, and the color appears on the mat, but it doesnt make a mess anywhere. They make some with #' and animals and other stuff on it, and when you touch one of then it will tell you what it is...it is really neat.

you should find games with your child. like play hide and seek with him. or have him draw you a picture and ask him about the colors he used. if you want to keep him out of your hair then put him in daycare. your child is just one years old. he needs you to interact with him. show him things that he needs to know like numbers colors shapes. stuff like that. don't keep him busy alone. you have to interact with him because he sees what you do and will learn from that. hope this helps

it somewhat is going to be confusing to maintain an eye fixed on 3 infants and an toddler, i'm hoping you at the instant are not sitting on my own. i'd propose video games and activities that shop all of them in one spot and supply you a manner of protective the three month previous close to you. Coloring-i'd use something person-friendly to freshen up, shop on with crayons, water colour paints, stickers(if the youngsters are all waiting to peel and stick themselves). in case you utilize user-friendly paintings, than you are able to placed the toddler in a bouncer on the table, and characteristic the youngsters on the table with you. yet another thought for ordinary paintings is squishy bags. fill up zip lock bags with distinctive colour paints(you are trying this area). Zip the baggage tightly, and permit the youngsters to squish the paint around and combine colours. examining- Get some books and examine to the youngsters. of course you've gotten the toddler interior of attain while you examine to the youngsters. some infants somewhat desire to verify, so this would take in 15-20 min. i'd use it as a before mattress interest. Blocks/legos- little young infants like to play with blocks and legos. This interest can somewhat waste it sluggish. build towers and knock them down. young infants like to knock towers down. impediment course- If the youngsters are somewhat little than shop it user-friendly. the youngsters I watch love doing this. set up user-friendly "stations" and characteristic the youngsters do something there. A leaping jack on the pillow, touch your feet on the toy automobile, etc. I constantly had the youngsters run over to me on the tip of the path, and tell me something. they'd supply up at me and that i'd ask "tell me you wide-unfold animal, "tell me your fashionable colour.", etc. be sure you do no longer try this too on the edge of bedtime, because it somewhat winds infants up, yet then whilst they're drained from burning ability. television- whilst I oftentimes do no longer propose the television, it can be a competent thought to shop it, in case you like individual time with the toddler. toddler's at the instant are not constantly super television watchers, so be constructive which you're basically using it once you like it, including whilst feeding the toddler.

You should interact with your child or put him in a daycare where they will do it. The first 3 years are very important. Get him Fisher- Price and Leap Frog toys. You can't go wrong with books.

What I would do is divide all my son's toys up into three groups. Three times during the day I would pack up all the toys and bring out the next group. Then he is more excited to see the "new" toys.
