If the Veterinary clinic is unsanitary, sure they can. All surfaces such as the exam table must be thoroughly disinfected after any animal has been on it. Even a healthy looking pet may be a potential carrier of a disease or parasite.

It's pretty unlikely and of course possible. Certainly not if your cat is just there for an hour or so. Vets are aware of which animals might be contagious and they take the necessary steps to protect your cat.

It is possible for an animal to pick up an illness from another in the office. Less likely for cats if you use a carrier!!!!!!

In theory, if they were in contact with another cat that had an infectious illness, then yes.
