If I going into a four-year Air Force ROTC program, will I have to go to basic selection/training the summer before my freshman year? If so, how long is it?

No. You would go to a summer camp training between sophomore and junior years. I believe it is 6 weeks long.

Make sure you apply for an ROTC scholarship. Many are available, particularly computers, nursing, meteorology!

Many believe ROTC is superior to the academy because you get real college life and not four years of military boot camp.

nicely you may want to do AFROTC, and get a 2 or 3 three hundred and sixty 5 days scholarship to pay for your undergraduate degree, then if you're actually not entering into med college then flow into the AF medical field once you graduate, or in case you do precisely tell them that you want to pay for it your self so your dedication isn't as lengthy. Yeah the guy above me is ideal

Unless they change it, I beleive you do the basic training
( which you get college credit for) is done the summer between year one and year two. but always before year 3.

It is a great program
