My friend just saw these initials on brand new engines at the GE plant in Erie PA . No one apparantly, even on the railroad, has ever heard of it. Maybe a new shortline?

I know of a QNS&L railroad... Quebec North Shore and Labrador.

Never heard of it.

I am inclined to believe it may well be a new short line, as they tend to pop up everywhere, any time any major carrier needs to circumvent unions and the collective bargaining agreements that go with them.

Of course it could be Canadian or even an overseas outfit.

Just going on initials, I could only find Ontario Northland Railway and Oregon Northwestern Railroad, both of whom have probably been swallowed up by now.

But they are usually rag tag on equipment, and it seems surprising that any new short line would be purchasing brand new equipment.

I'll follow this, as I am now curious...................
