I found out this guy at work that I have had a little crush on for the past year put in his 2 week notice the other day. We have always been friendly, even touched on flirting a little. I called his office to talk to someone who wasn't there and he and I ended up chatting for a half hour the other day. So, when I found out he was leaving, I thought I needed to do something to let him know I like him. I emailed him and asked him to lunch...specifically I said "Hey, I want to take you to lunch before your last day. When is a good time for you?" We settled on this coming Monday. Now, the question is, do you think asking him to lunch was enough to let him know I am interested in him? Or do I need to literally say something at lunch? And How do I say it? Or what should I do? Thanks!!!!!!!

NO!!!! Don't wait.

Don't let this turn into a party of 3+ because he doesn't know you want some alone time. Clarify this immediately. Otherwise somebody else might get invited, him thinking it's just lunch.

Send him an email with "Sexual Harassment" in the subject line. In the body, tell him that it's a good thing for you that he's leaving the company so now YOU won't get into any trouble!

That will get his attention and let him know you're interested in a way that will bring a smile to his face. At lunch, tell him you want to give him a good-bye kiss for his leaving. Plant one on him that will make your intentions perfectly clear.

Man, I should charge for this stuff...

Tell him at lunch about the little crush u had on
him for the past year, and if he responds in a
way that u think he is interested then tell him u
would like to go out with him again. Wait for his
call and if he does not then let it go as it is a
hint that maybe he is not that interested in u.

Tell him you would like to stay in touch with him after he leaves his current position.
Go to lunch and if it goes well, say to him "now you can take me to lunch." You might even be bold (or he will do the asking) and ask him to dinner.
This will give you an opportunity to see him again. You will know during lunch if he enjoys your company and if he would like to go out again. Have fun and enjoy yourself.
