now im placing my personal opinions aside about what i think of the concept of fidelity...but what i am asking is that why...when it is widely known that something like 85% of all men are unfaithful at some point and something like 75% of all women are unfaithful too...why do we always slam the men...men dont seem to have the same generalising bitterness as women do about this fact...what gives guys and gals...give me your opinions if you would...and before you ask...this is not a personal issue for me...im just interested in the way we think...;0)

I don't like doing long answers ... so i'll TRY keep this short .

MOST WOMEN LIE TO THEMSELVES....

...and not just to men ... they actually make excuses for what they do because they are conditioned to believe that cheating for pure physical reasons is something that only men do ... but those days are long gone... all this nonsense about an emotional connection (b4 a woman cheats) does not fool real men like me ...

...men just admit that they are weak where this is concerned and accept the guilt that comes with it... ownership.
guys nowadays are too busy being bullied by women ... to pull their heads out of their A$$es, ...stand up and be MEN

No one bashes BAd

ps. you have been asking some really good questions lately ... this is one of them... keep it up ... or i'll lose concentration. ;-))

Cheatin is pretty scummy in most circumstances. But I'm willin to believe that in a lifetime at one stage or another most people have been unfaithful to one degree or another. As for why women appear to to be , shall we say, more vocal on the subject than men, I think Jamma354 ^^^up there summed it up pretty well with the instinct idea.

Men do feel the need to conquer (I think anyway) and are less emotional creatures (except when it comes to sport) and therefore may have less ability let alone actual bitterness to gripe when they're on the recieving end of some betrayal. However women seek strength and emotional security from their partner, so when they're victims of infedelity the cut may run deeper for them on an emotion level.

Which leads to the much deserved vocal bashin like "all men are pigs", it's not much of a consolation knowin that "85% of men are pigs" but thankfully, I ain't no pig. :)

It's really a question of culture. In some parts of the world, I think you'd find the balance rather different, with unfaithful women being mutliated or murdered. There is some evidence in the West of cheating women being battered or killed - the main distinction being that here it is not in any way state-sanctioned. And don't forget that women are 'bashed' for sexual promiscuity of any kind in all cultures pretty much, in a far more sinister way (slurs on character, destuction of reputation, branding as whores) than women tend to 'bash men', which generally takes the comparatively 'clean' form of outrage, sorrow and lack of trust. The problem, of course, is that men are biologically programmed to impregnate as many women as possible. They can't help it and have to be trained (by themselves through willpower, or by a woman) out of it in order to remain faithful to one woman throughout their adult lives. Listen to any group of married men talking about this phenomenon and you will be in no doubt about its existence. Frankly, the best thing to do is sidestep the whole mess and walk on the other half of the pavement.

A man's biological need is to sleep with as many women as possible a women's is to find a man to stay and help with child raising. Maybe this is why women bash men so much for being unfaithful it is more of a bash on them for making a bad choice in a man.

I would say personally. I have cheated in the past, but that's because a guy has been abusive or a real *** in some way, and if there was a wonderful guy then I would be faithful. If you have enough to offer at home why would they wanna go elsewhere. and if they do, they still have something to come back for. that's the way i look at it anyway. I wouldn't always ditch a guy for being unfaithful but i'd ditch him for treating me bad like that or any other way.

when a guy cheats, most of the time is only because he likes other women physically speaking, must men wont even remember the names of the girls he has cheated with
women on the other hand, establish an emotional relationship with a guy and then get in his bed

And we tend to think, the other gender acts the same way we do

so if my woman cheats on me, of course I'm gonna be mad, and sad, and everything, but if she did it just for the physical attraction, chances are I'm not gonna lose her

if a guy cheats on a woman, she thinks it is because he has developed emotional feeling for that other woman, and therefore chances are she is going to lose him

But deep down i think we really know this
because there are a lot of women who stay with an unfaithful partner, and not much men who will stay with an unfaithful women

I think the average unavailable man will stray, just because a woman happens to "offer it on a plate", no matter how happy he thinks he is at home.

An unavailable woman will stray because she's emotionally unfulfilled by her man.

Men can separate their emotions from their bodies much more easily than a woman can. Hurt emotions/broken dreams/lies can equal bitterness.

It may just be "instincts". The man wants to sow as many seeds as widely as possible.

The woman wants a good strong man to help provide for her and the children.

Then again it all depends on the individual ...

Wow. I got so many things to say about this topic. If a guy treats you like crap....don't continue dating the guy I don't care if he's black, white, Mexican, or whatever. Any man of any race could disrespect a woman. Any woman of any race could be submissive. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT RACE YOU ARE. It has to do with the way they were raised, personal experience, or whatever. yOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO COME ON HERE BASHING WHITE PEOPLE. WHITE PEOPLE HAVE NO RIGHT BASHING BLACK PEOPLE. NO RACE SHOULD BE BASHED PERIOD.

It is wrong ...not just the act......more damaging in the long term is the betrayal of trust. If you have invested 100% trust in someone and they throw it back in your face......this is the worst aspect. You then carry that damage for the rest of your life and find it hard to commit fully in a new relationship for fear it will happen again. This works for both sexes....not slamming men or women just the whole thing of trust and betrayal.

until i read full question i thought you were jokin! think if they have then they deserve a good bashin anyway.... think your figures speak for themselves.. if stats say more men than women are having out of marriage relationships then surely more women are gonna complain about it... how many guys do you know that would admit that his missus been at it behind his back.... a lot less than a woman would....
