Depending on what chemicals you want to use on your hair. If you are chemically going to straighten your hair you may want to ask them to moisturize your hair too. That way there isn't that much damage. If you use a hair straightner you may want to use a fortified conditioner or deep conditioning at home.

Chemicals damage hair, so does heat I would try to limit both. But the salon seems to last longer which in turn means you go less.

I don't think so. I apply chemicals to my hair every 4-6 weeks. I think it is the quality of care you provide your hair in between. All great hair needs proper maintenance, no matter if you use chemicals or not. I've used Pantene for years, not solely but in addition to regular hair care.

yes, chemicals damage your hair. Blonde, and bleaching, is worse than putting dark color in your hair. And my hair was FRIED when I got a perm a l-o-o-o-ng time ago. I had a scalp burn, and stubble ! Never again ! Also, I had a relative whose hair just started melting because she bleached it too much ! Go to a professional.

Yes!Hair salonis better...a straightner practically fries your hair...which cause frizziness....and split ends...and lots of other problems.
