Some thing electronic. The Sony PS3 would be a first-class gift. However is is a big gift for just letting someone know you like them. Try something like the Iriver Clix, its a small sleek and sexy video/mp3 player. Or you could go for something such as a popular video game he does not have. Video games are a more thrifty buy, but the thought you put into the kind of games he likes will make it so much more.

Maybe a copy of a movie you two saw that you both liked, or a CD of a band you saw in concert together. Something that is personal but not extravigant, and might open up the communication lines so you can tell him how much you like hanging out with him.

Give him a gift certificate at a store that he frequents often. That way he can deceide what he gets, you just pay for it.
