Is there a visa for self employed people?[long term stay in italy]?

I want to go to Florence for one year possibly longer.

I am a self employed [freelance] designer and work online so I can live anywhere and don't need to find employment.

I am Australian - 26 years old.

What Visa would I need if any?

You need to prove your income and experience to the European Union & Italy & IRS.
You still need to prove your sources & work experience for the Italian market.
And your knowledge according to the education laws and work laws.
Boring yes!
But nothing else to do!

i think you can find a job and be employed even if you dont have a visa..
