A couple of months ago I noticed a dry skin patch on the left of my lower lip. It's darker than my lip color. When my lips peel (from regular dryness) so does this patch. I've used Blistex lip products and Vaseline that somewhat help with the dryness, but this darkened patch stays there. One also began to appear on the right side, but faded away......any help?

try dipping a q-tip in bleach then in water and rub it on the area. it can be some form of infection so try that for a few days to see if it helps to kill the germs. it sounds crazy but bleach really works on stuff like that. trust me even though you don't know me.

Drink PLENTY water! One very common reason for dry patches on lips are lack of water. Your lips are not supposed to be dry. You should be drinking at least 8 glasses a day.

I'd probably set up an appointment with a dermatologist -- it is probably minor, but might be something that needs a stronger, medicated cream to get rid of it, esp. if Vasoline didn't work.

I don't know anything about you. Age etc....but I'd have a dermatologist check it out. Could be cancer spot. Better safe then sorry.
Good luck
