We have been in a serious relationship for 2 years now and he hates it when I bring up an engagement. I love him and want to be patient but it has been hard because I am ready for the next step. He refuses to talk about my feelings and says that I am just trying to start an argument. I am hurting and confused!

Now you know the outcome of trying to push and control a guy into fulfilling YOUR timetable.
Why don't you care what HE wants?
Girls look at men as the solution to a cash flow and/or reproductive problem, and try to race into marriage to accomplish those goals.
He promised "the year" thing because you forced him into it.
Ask him when HE wants to be married, if it didn't matter to you at all.

If you're ready to move to the next step and he's not . . . You have to make a decision. Are you willing to just continue on like it is indefinitely? If you're not, be ready, willing and able to move on. Yes, Move On. If all he wants to do is date, date, date and you want more, go find someone who wants what you want. You'll both be happier in the long run.

u either deicde to wait til he wants it or u leave. hint...if u dont mention it or talk about it he might eventually want it.,
