First, look into your mirror. See that face. Yes, that is you. Accept who you are. Second, turn on your television, and watch it for one hour. THAT is everyone else. So you now know who you are, and they are. Third, DO NOT CARE ABOUT WHAT THEY THINK OF YOU, and do what you have always wanted to do. Say what you have always wanted to say, and be who you actually are inside of you. Good luck.

You could try speaking to strangers (in a line at the bank, the grocery store, offer to help someone with something heavy, or something they can't reach well, hold doors for people) and learn one person at a time that strangers are usually very nice. I'd not start with a gang member, or a group obviously together, but in banks and stores most will be there for the same reason you are and the staff will be there to protect you should you catch a crabby person. Start with old people, people smaller than you (but not children who might think bad things about you). It doesn't matter if you look foolish, they are strangers, and over time you can decrease you fear of looking foolish, then even when it's someone you 'like' you self-confidence will hold you up when you try to talk to them.

Yes, tell yourself that the world doesn't revolve around you, so you can relax and be yourself and stop worrying so much about what others think of you. I know how hard it is, cause I used to be shy myself. Most people are really great. Be friendly. Give them a smile and say hello. You will generally get what you give.
Good luck, I hope it helps.

It's obvious that you're a nice guy, but if you're a wall flower all your life you'll never find that special some one. Don't be a afraid to let your feelings out because a lot of girls love that in a guy. Speak up!!! A great way to do that is getting involved in community activities it's a great way to meet new people

Start a job waitressing! I was the same way, and began waiting tables at 14 yrs old, it forced me out of being shy.

Or bussing table; any kind of PR work will help. Good Luck!

I think shyness is a trait that lessens with age. I know, for me, I was always shy but the older I seem to get, the less I worry about what people think of me.

Think of them as you do anybody else, you only get one life, live it to the fullest, and just be yourself!
