I just bought a Nikon D70 digital SLR and would like to learn as much as I can before the next class for it starts which guide should I get? They all say they are good but I'd like suggestions before I buy one of them. Thanks any help would be great...

I have the same camera. Sit down with the manual that comes with your camera, and go through it page by page. It doesn't cost you a penny more than you've already paid, and you do learn a lot that way. That's what I did.

No. Here are the following reasons why. 1. $500 can buy you a new one. 2. $400 can buy you a better secondhand model. 3. You don't seem to know how to handle a dSLR. If you did, you wouldn't be asking this question. 4. Your sister does not need your camera. She would be better off with a new one too.

I second thoroughly digesting the manual, but the "Magic Lantern" guides are really good.
Enjoy your new camera!
