well, you may only plagiarize 10% of your paper....DUH
of course you cant copy work
you must quote things and provide works cited etc etc

Common knowledge is any term or concept that a reasonable person would know or have reason to know without citation.
I teach writing and research, and I can tell you this: If in doubt, cite. You'll never see anyone get in trouble for citing too often.
Plagiarism itself requires the intent to deceive. That is, you can make a genuine mistake and have it not be plagiarism. But that is a horrible thing to try to prove, and schools aren't always very interested in subtle differences.

know how to cite resources and you won't be a plagiarist. There are several cites on line that all you have to do is put it the information and it plops out the works cited page for you. They are available for MLA and APA. Other than that, if your thinking of copying someones paper one word: DON'T
